Coming to Your Local Pet Shop in Belgium

Sometimes I’m walking through a store in Belgium  and interesting signs catch my eye. This one was at a Cat food freezer case, so I took a photo and showed it to my Belgian wife and she confirmed my suspicion. This is indeed the name of a Belgian cat food.

As an expat, I thought… does is have a barf taste? or just make your cats barf?

Luckily I was set straight by my friend Katie Wyatt, this is what it is:

The B.A.R.F diet stands for two common phrases: ‘Biologically Appropriate Raw Food’ and ‘Bones and Raw Food’. Founded by veterinarian and nutritionist Dr. Ian Billinghurst, the principle is to feed dogs the diet they evolved to eat—a raw diet composed of meats and greens that are fresh, uncooked and wild.
